This year, Pancake Day falls on 5th March. Shrove Tuesday always falls 47 days before Easter Sunday – so the date varies each year (now there’s a fact!). If you’re anything like us, it’s a day not to be missed and you will be partial to flipping a pancake or three!!
Pancakes can also be great fun for our dogs! Doggie-friendly pancakes are similar to human pancakes but you have to make sure you avoid foods that can be toxic for dogs, such as human chocolate, grapes and raisins.

So, if you’re ready to get those tails wagging, here’s what you will need for the pawfect doggie pancakes…
For the Pancakes:
200g (7 oz) buckwheat flour 500ml (17 fl oz) milk 2 eggs, beaten 1 tsp vegetable oil
Optional:
Your dog’s favourite filling (You could use: cheese / peanut butter / apple pieces)
Instructions:
1) Measure the flour into a bowl, make a well in the centre and pour in the milk and beaten eggs. Whisk together, and then place the mix into the fridge for 20 minutes.
2) Heat a small amount of vegetable oil in a frying pan at medium heat and pour enough batter into the pan to coat the bottom. Cook for about 30 seconds, then flip the pancake over and cook for a further minute or until both sides are golden brown.
3) Add your doggie’s favourite filling and then once the pancakes have cooled slightly, you can serve them up!
